Effective date: November 2, 2026
Dragonfly Uploader (“the app”) is a Windows desktop application made by The Dragonfly Catalyst™ (“we”). This policy explains what the app accesses, what it stores, where, and how you can remove it.
YouTube API Services and your Google account
The app uses YouTube API Services. When you connect a YouTube channel, Google asks you to allow one permission: “See, edit, and permanently delete your YouTube videos, ratings, comments and captions” (youtube.force-ssl). The app uses it only on the channel you connect, and only to:
- identify your channel (name, ID and picture);
- list your playlists, and create and rename playlists or change their privacy when you ask, and, if you turn it on, create the next playlist automatically when one is full;
- upload the videos in your archive folder to your channel, privately and in number order, with the “made for kids” setting you chose and, if you set one, a scheduled publish time;
- check that each upload arrived and read back its title, privacy and processing state;
- add each uploaded video to the playlist you chose, at the position of its number, and move playlist items back into order;
- keep each video’s title matching your archive: when a video is renamed or renumbered, the app updates its YouTube title automatically in the background. Every title change is logged, and the latest changes can be undone.
The app never deletes your videos, never reads or changes comments, ratings or captions, and does not access any other Google service or your Google password. By using the app you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms. Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.
Dragonfly Uploader’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy (https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy), including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell YouTube or Google data, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except Google as needed to perform the actions above.
What stays on your computer
- Your Google sign-in tokens, encrypted with your Windows account’s own key. They never leave your computer except to talk to Google.
- Your channel’s name and ID, your playlists, and the YouTube IDs of videos the app uploaded.
- Your archive folders, video file names, numbers, rename history and upload history.
- The rename log and backups that let you undo file renames.
- Activity and diagnostic logs.
Analytics and updates
The app has no analytics, advertising or tracking, and sends no crash reports. It contacts only Google, our servers and, to check for new versions, GitHub (https://github.com), which sees your computer’s internet address and the app version. Copies installed from the Microsoft Store are updated by the Store instead.
What is stored on Dragonfly’s servers
Our servers run on Supabase. Only the following is stored there:
- Your Dragonfly account: email address, username, password (stored only as a secure hash by our sign-in provider) and an optional profile picture.
- Your trial and subscription: plan, status, trial end date, billing period dates and the Stripe customer and subscription IDs. Payments are handled by Stripe, which receives your email address and your Dragonfly account ID; we never receive your card number. Stripe’s privacy policy: https://stripe.com/privacy
- Phone companion, only if you turn on “Share status with my phone”: your computer’s name, a random ID for this installation, the app version, and a status summary (queue state, archive names, video file names and numbers, channel and playlist names, job progress, recent activity). Folder paths, tokens and passwords are never included. Turning it off deletes the shared status. If you turn on “Allow phone control”, the commands your phone sends (pause, start, check, scan) are stored briefly so your computer can carry them out.
- Problem reports, only when you send one: your description, any screenshots or videos you attach, and the diagnostics you review before sending.
Keeping and deleting your data
- Disconnect a channel in the app (Accounts) to revoke the app’s access at Google and delete its saved sign-in and cached channel data from your computer. You can also remove access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
- Delete your Dragonfly account in the app (Accounts → Delete account) to remove your account, username, subscription record, phone companion data and problem reports from our servers. Stripe keeps its own payment records under its privacy policy.
- Uninstalling the app and deleting its data folder removes everything it stored on your computer.
- To ask for a copy of your data, or to ask us to delete anything else, such as your profile picture or files attached to a problem report, email [email protected]
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Security
Connections to Google and to our servers are encrypted (HTTPS). Sign-in tokens are encrypted on your computer, and each Dragonfly account can only see its own data on our servers.
Changes
We will update this policy when the app’s use of data changes, and change the effective date above.
